improvised performances by Laurie Anderson (viola and electronics), lyrics by Laurie Anderson, with excerpts from Amelia Earhart’s pilot’s log from her last trip around the world, adapted from “Songs for A.E.” a work for full orchestra first performed in 2000 by the American Composers Orchestra at Carnegie Hall New York City

Laurie Anderson Downpour (2022) (arr. Stéphane Collin)
Downpour is a work made especially for the festival and will feature songs adapted from Anderson’s Grammy winning 2018 album Landfall with the Kronos Quartet and improvisations
with Adrien Lambinet (trombone), Eric Thielemans (percussion) & Eve Beuvens (piano)

with the support of Beside Tax Shelter and the Belgian Tax Shelter

Ars Musica, the international biennale for new music, chose Big Science as its theme for 2022: the ideal balance between mathematics and composition, the renewed search for the sound of computers and technology, the imaginary poetry of the stars and cosmos, the science that has close and fruitful ties with music.
