Alexei Ogrintchouk is recognised across the world as an oboist and artist of astounding technique and virtuosity. This is coupled with a profound lyricism and a highly original musicality.
In 2005 he was appointed first solo oboist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam under Mariss Jansons. Prior to this, he was Valery Gergiev’s first solo oboist at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, a position which he secured at the age of 20.
Ogrintchouk combines his orchestral commitments with projects as chamber musician, and his ever-increasing solo and conducting engagements.
