Anaïk Morel was born in Lyon and graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon. She is prize winner of the Pierre Bernac Singing Competition in St Jean de Luz (2004), of the International Competition for Chamber Music in Lyon (2006) and of the Concours Reine Elisabeth in Brussels (2011). As a soloist of the Bayerische Staatsoper from 2008 through 2010 she performed in Carmen (Mercedes), Nabucco (Fenena), Luisa Miller (Federica), Falstaff (Meg Page), Hänsel und Gretel (Hänsel), Palestrina (Silla) and Die schweigsame Frau (Carlotta). Meanwhile she has performed at the Staatsoper Berlin and at the Teatro alla Scala (Die Walküre), at the Opéra national de Lorraine (Lazuli in Chabrier's L'Etoile, Boulotte in Offenbach's Barbe-Bleue), at the Opéra national de Lyon and at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari (Mère Marie in Dialogues des Carmélites), at the Opéra de Paris (Siebel in Faust), at the Saarländische Staatstheater Saarbrücken and at the Staatsoper Stuttgart (Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust) as well as at the Salzburg Festival (World Premiere of Charlotte Salomon by Marc-André Dalbavie). In the last few years she has made her successful debut as Carmen at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, a role she has also successfully performed at the Zurich Opera and at the Opéra de Montpellier. She has also performed Preziosilla (La forza del destino) at the Theater Basel, Fenena (Nabucco) at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Charlotte (Werther) at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, at the Opéra du Rhin and at the Zurich Opera as well as Dido (Dido and Aeneas) at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
