The Sound of Stories brings together four decades of orchestral music by internationally acclaimed, award-winning composer Dirk Brossé: compositions created between 1985 and 2025, rooted in personal experiences, encounters, places, and events that have left a lasting impression.

Like a musical mosaic, the album unfolds a rich palette of memories, emotions, and imagination. Despite the broad span of time, the works share a distinct musical signature and an ongoing fascination with the infinite possibilities of orchestral colour.

For Brossé, orchestration forms an essential part of the creative process. Each musical idea finds its own voice, character, and atmosphere, woven into the rich sonic tapestry of the symphonic orchestra. Here, instrumental colours are not merely a means of expression, but an integral part of the story each composition tells.
