March 26, 2027, marks exactly 200 years since Ludwig van Beethoven passed away in Vienna. This bicentenary is being commemorated worldwide with concerts, festivals, and special events. In Salzburg, Beethoven's impressive Third Piano Concerto takes center stage, alongside his ever-popular Coriolan Overture.
The programme then expands its view across Europe to France, featuring Debussy’s irresistible La Mer, and Ravel – of Swiss-Basque descent and naturalized French – who explores the bottomless depths of the waltz in La Valse.
