Day in and day out, the musicians of Brussels Philharmonic practise together in order to shine in the numerous masterpieces for orchestra played during the concerts. But also in their free time, they regularly unite in smaller ensembles to delve into the rich chamber music repertoire. Enjoy a picnic concert at Flagey in the company of Brussels Philharmonic Soloists Nadja Nevolovitsch, (principal first violins), Mari Hagiwara (principal second violins), Mihai Cocea (principal viola) and Kristaps Bergs (principal cello). These four good friends and top musicians will play the intense and colourful music of Dmitri Shostakovich, Pēteris Vasks and Arnold Nevolovitsch.
We spoke with violinst Nadja Nevolovitsch about Noveletten composed by her father Arnold Nevolovitsch. The piece, originally written for a bassoon quartet, and performed mostly in a formation of clarinet trio, will now see it's premiere as a string quartet.
