Denève & Williams

The music of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial touched Stéphane Denève deeply as a young boy. The symphonic spark struck, and the rest is history.

It may not be Bach or Beethoven, but John Williams' iconic soundtrack for this 1982 film still continues to conquer the hearts of all ages. It's almost impossible to hear the music without imagining E.T. and his friend on a flying bicycle in silhouette against the moon.

To celebrate the film's 40th anniversary and John Williams' 90th birthday, Brussels Philharmonic will perform the composer's complete Academy Award®-winning score while Steven Spielberg's timeless classic is projected on the big screen on Saturday, June 25 at 16:00 in De Singel in Antwerp.

As a warm-up, watch the fascinating conversation Stéphane Denève once had with legendary composer John Williams and discover what impact the music of E.T. had when he was young.
