On Saturday 10 October, Film Fest Gent will once again bring together the leading names from the international film music world in Ghent for the World Soundtrack Awards ceremony. For this 26th edition, the festival is proud to welcome Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, one of the most visionary and original composers of her generation, as Guest of Honour.

Hildur Guðnadóttir’s evocative work features in modern classics such as Joker, TÁR, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and the acclaimed HBO series Chernobyl. Guðnadóttir made history as the first solo female composer to win both a Golden Globe and a Grammy for Best Original Score. During the ceremony, the Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, will perform a tribute to her innovative body of work.
In addition to celebrating Guðnadóttir, the World Soundtrack Academy will also honour legendary composer Trevor Jones with a Lifetime Achievement Award. With a career spanning over five decades, Jones is world-renowned for his iconic scores for films such as The Last of the Mohicans, Notting Hill, and Mississippi Burning.
