I’m Emmanuel, and I’ve been a tutti cellist with Brussels Philharmonic since 2008. Alongside my orchestral work, I teach at the Royal Conservatoires of Liège and Brussels. Music and sport are my two great passions. I'm also a personal trainer and lead warm-up sessions for the orchestra’s musicians.
Summer Sounds on SpotifyI play the cello. Originally, I wanted to learn the flute (admittedly much easier to carry around!), but unfortunately there were no places available at the music academy I attended as a child. Keen to start learning an instrument as soon as possible, I chose the cello instead. I haven’t regretted it for a second! Besides that, I've also played the viola and the piano.
I’m open to almost anything and enjoy listening to a wide range of music. That said, I actually listen to surprisingly little music outside work, even classical music. I mostly listen while exercising or coaching. As a result, my playlists tend to be filled with energetic, uplifting tracks.

I'll be teaching at the International Music Academy in Dinant this August. Before that, you'll find me in Greece, Italy and Slovenia. I'm happy to go with the flow and see where the summer takes me!
